Workshop
We run small-group upcycling workshops from our Berlin workshop space. The idea is simple: you bring a piece of furniture, we supply the tools, materials, and guidance, and by the end of the day you leave with a finished (or near-finished) piece you've worked on yourself.
The workshops started because people kept asking if they could watch us work. Watching turned out to be boring. Doing it yourself turned out to be the interesting part.
What happens in a workshop
Each session follows the full upcycling process from start to finish:
- Assessment (30 minutes): We look at your piece together, discuss what you want the finished result to look like, and plan the approach. Some pieces need chemical stripping; some just need sanding. Some want paint; some want a natural wood finish. We'll talk you through the options.
- Preparation (1.5-2 hours): Stripping the old finish (if needed), sanding through the grits from coarse to fine, filling any holes or damage with wood filler, and cleaning. This is the part that takes the longest and matters the most.
- Lunch break: We provide coffee, tea, and snacks. Bring your own lunch, or there are several good spots within a five-minute walk of the workshop.
- Painting or finishing (2-3 hours): Applying primer (if using acrylic paint), first coat, drying time, light sand, second coat. Or applying stain and hardwax oil if you're going for a natural look. Between coats, we cover technique, tool care, and answer questions.
- Final touches (30 minutes): Reattaching hardware, applying wax or sealer, and discussing how to care for the finish over the coming weeks as it fully cures.
Workshop formats
Full-day workshop (10:00-17:00)
The full experience. Enough time to take a medium-sized piece (a side table, a small chest of drawers, a set of shelves) from start to finish. Most people leave with a completed piece.
- Maximum 6 participants
- All tools and sandpaper provided
- Paint and finishing products included (chalk paint, wax, primer, hardwax oil)
- Bring your own piece of furniture
Price: 95 euros per person
Half-day introduction (10:00-13:00)
A shorter session focused on technique rather than completing a piece. Good for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals (sanding, priming, painting) before committing to a full project at home. We provide practice pieces.
- Maximum 8 participants
- All tools and materials provided
- Practice pieces supplied (you don't need to bring anything)
- Take-home guide with product recommendations
Price: 55 euros per person
Private group sessions
For groups of 4 or more (birthday parties, team events, friends who all have a piece to work on). We book the workshop exclusively for your group and adjust the schedule to suit. Private sessions can be booked on weekdays or weekends.
Price: From 350 euros for a group of 4-6, full day. Email for a specific quote.
What to bring
- Your furniture piece (for full-day workshops). It needs to fit through a standard door and be something one or two people can carry. If you're unsure, send us a photo and dimensions beforehand.
- Old clothes or an apron. You will get dusty and possibly paint-splattered.
- An idea of what you want the finished piece to look like. A photo from Pinterest or a magazine is helpful; a rough description works too.
What we supply
Everything else. Sandpaper in all grits, orbital sanders, chemical stripper (if needed), wood filler, primer, chalk paint in a range of colours, hardwax oil, clear wax, brushes, scrapers, dust masks, and safety glasses. We also have a paint colour chart so you can choose on the day.
Upcoming dates
Workshops run on the first and third Saturday of each month (full-day) and the second Saturday (half-day introduction). Private sessions can be booked for any available date.
We publish exact dates and available spots by email. To receive the schedule, email [email protected] with "workshop" in the subject line and we'll add you to the list.

Booking
Email [email protected] with the date you'd like, the type of session (full-day, half-day, or private), and a note about what piece you're planning to bring (for full-day sessions). We confirm availability within one working day and send payment details. Full payment secures your spot.
Cancellations more than 7 days before the workshop date are fully refunded. Within 7 days, we offer a credit toward a future date.
